  • Q. How do I make a "Flip"?

    When first launched, FaceFlipBook will load the main Flip view. Begin by tapping the camera icon located in the bottom icon bar of the main Flip view.

    Within the Camera view, use the Flip Mapping overlay to align the subject's eyes and nose to the green indicators.

    For best results, keep the subjects eyes or eyebrows at the top of the middle layer; and the bottom of their nose near the bottom of the middle layer. Flips work best when the subject is facing directly forward and their face is centered within the Flip Mapping overlay. Remember that the eyes and nose layer are the key to making great Flips!

    Tap the camera button located in the bottom navigational bar. The subject's photo is then saved to the FaceFlipBook Image Library. You will need at least 3 face photos to create a Flip.

    Once you have taken 3 photos, tap the Flip icon located in the bottom icon bar. Your 3 photos will then be loaded into the main Flip view.

    To select different photos for your Flip, tap the Select icon located in the bottom icon bar. You will then be prompted to select 3 photos to be combined for your flip. Simply tap the photos you would like use and they will be numbered with a 1, 2, or 3, indicating the 3 photos to be combined. Tap the Flip icon located in the bottom icon bar to return to the Flip view. Your 3 selected photos will then be loaded into the Flip view for flipping!

    To Flip, simply swipe horizontally (left or right), with one finger across the photo layer that you would like to edit.

    Use a 2-finger pinch or spread gesture to contract or expand the individual image layers. This feature assists in aligning the edges of faces for a more consistent overall look of a your Flips.

    New Finger Gestures Added in Version 1.3:

    • Tap & Hold to adjust Flip Layers-

      Using 1 finger, tap and hold your finger on the layer you wish to move. Slide your finger up or down to adjust the Flip layer positioning.

    • 2 Finger Flip Layer Rotation-

      Using 2 fingers or thumbs, tap and hold your fingers on the layer you wish to edit. Rotate your fingers in a circular motion to rotate Flip layers.

    • Blend Layer Edges (available with upgrade)-

      Within the main Flip view, use 1 finger to swipe upwards from the black swipe indicator located in the center of the bottom navigation bar. To enable or disable layer edge blending features slide the "Blend Layer Edges", option to either the ON or OFF position. Swipe down again to close the menu when finished.

    • FlipTip Tool Tips-

      FlipTip tool tip screens appear when first launching FaceFlipBook. FlipTips provide helpful information on using FaceFlipBook app features, gestures, and more.To disable FlipTips when launching FaceFlipBook, simply swipe upwards from the black swipe indicator located in the center of the bottom navigation bar and slide the "Show FlipTips on App Launch", option to the OFF position. Swipe down again to close the menu when finished.

  • Q.How do I use photo filter effects?

    From the main Flip view tap the Edit icon located in the lower navigation. Next tap the photo that you would like to appy filter effects to. In the next view either swipe upwards or tap the Filters tray activation button. The Filters activation button is located near the bottom of the screen with green indicator triangles on either side.
    After activating the filter tray, simply tap the filter icon that you would like to apply. Certain filters may have individual settings adjustments that can be adjusted at this time. Tap Apply to apply the current filter selection to your photo; then tap Save to commit the final change to the image.

  • Q.How do I apply multiple photo filter effects with FaceFlipBook?

    More than one filter can be applied to a photo at once, allowing thousands of possible photo filter effect combinations. Access the Filters view by tapping the Edit icon from the main Flip View, then tap the photo to be editied. Swipe upwards or tap the Filters button located near the bottom of the screen. Tap the filter to be applied first, then tap "Apply".
    Apply the next filter effect by tapping the filter's icon and then tapping apply once again. Repeat this process as many times as you like to achieve desired photo effects. After you are finished applying photo filters, simply tap the "Save", button to commit the final edits to your photo.

  • Q.How do I use the new 1-touch zoom feature?

    Utilize the camera zoom by simply swiping the green inidicator left to right within the Camera View.

  • Q.Why is the app not launching (crashing) on startup?

    A small amount of users have experienced the app crashing when updating from previous versions of FaceFlipBook. If you experience this after an upgrade, simply reinstall FaceFlipBook:
    - Delete the FaceFlipBook app and FaceFlipBook Lite if currently installed
    - Reinstall FaceFlipBook and/ or FaceFlipBook Lite
    - Save a new Flip to insure that the FaceFlipBook Folder is synced

  • Q.How do I import photos?

    From the Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the lower navigation. Locate the "Import", button in the upper-right corner of the Library view. Tap the Import button to access photos stored in your device's Camera Roll or other image libraries. Tap the photo you would like to import and it will be copied into the FaceFlipBook photo Library.

  • Q.How do I save a Flip?

    From the main Flip view tap the Save icon located in the bottom icon bar. The current Flip being displayed within the view will be saved to the FaceFlipBook Library and the FaceFlipBook Album within your phone's Photos.

  • Q. How do I post a Flip to Facebook?

    There are 2 ways to post a Flip to Facebook:

    1. From the Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Then from the Library view tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the photo(s) you wish to share, then tap the Share icon locate din the bottom icon bar. Tap the Post to Facebook button and the post input window will appear. You may now enter text for your Facebook post, add your current location, and choose the selected audience for your post and photo(s). Tap Post to post your message and attached Flip(s) to Facebook.

    2. From the Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Then from the Library view tap the photo thumbnail that you would like to share. The app will then load the single photo view. Tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the Post to Facebook button and the post input window will appear. You may now enter text for your Facebook post, add your current location, and choose the selected audience for your post and photo(s). Tap Post to post your message and attached Flip to Facebook.

  • Q. How do I Tweet a Flip?

    There are 2 ways to Tweet a Flip:

    1. From the Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Then from the Library view tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the photo you wish to share (note that Tweets are limited to 1 photo attachment), then tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the Tweet button to display the Tweet input window. You may now enter text for your Tweet and add your current location. In the lower right corner your remaining Tweet characters are indicated. Tap Send to Tweet your message and attached Flip!

    2. From the Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Then from the Library view tap the photo thumbnail that you would like to share. The app will then load the single photo view. Tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the Tweet button to display the Tweet input window. You may now enter text for your Tweet and add your current location. In the lower right corner your remaining Tweet characters are indicated. Tap Send to Tweet your message and attached Flip!

  • Q. How do I edit a photo?

    Begin by tapping the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar of the main Flip view. Tap the thumbnail of the photo that you would like to edit. The photo will now load into single photo viewer. Tap the Edit button located in the upper right corner of the view. This will activate the following photo editing options:

    Rotate - Tap the Rotate icon to activate the rotate editing view. Using a 2 finger gesture rotate the photo to the desired orientation. Tap OK to apply the rotation edit. Then tap Save to permanently apply the rotation.

    Enhance- Tap the Enhance icon. Enhance is a quick way to help improve your photos on the fly. Enhance will automatically try to improve colors and light / dark balance within your face photos. Tap OK to apply the Enhance edit. Then tap Save to permanently apply Enhance. Enhance automatically adjusts the saturation, contrast, and shadow details of photos.

    Red Eye - Tap the Red Eye icon to apply Red Eye correction to photos with red eyes. Tap OK to apply the Red Eye correction. Then tap Save to permanently apply the Red Eye correction.

    Crop - Tap the Crop icon to activate the Crop editing view. Using a 2 finger pinch or spread gesture resize the photo to the desired crop orientation. Tap OK to apply the Crop. Then tap Save to permanently apply the Crop.

  • Q. Can I apply multiple edits to a photo at once?

    Yes, simply apply the photo editing feature, tap OK, then tap the next features icon that you would like to apply. Perform the next feature's edits, then click OK. To apply all of the applied editing features permanently, tap the Save button.

  • Q. How do I play a slideshow?

    There are 2 ways to begin playing a slideshow:

    1. From the main Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the Play icon located in the bottom icon bar. The slideshow will start to play beginning with the first photo in your FaceFlipBook Library. To stop the slideshow, tap anywhere within the screen area; then tap the Back button located in the upper left navigation bar.

    2. From the main Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the thumbnail of the photo you would like to begin the slideshow with. The selected photo will be loaded into the single image view. Simply press the Play icon located in the bottom icon bar to begin playing the slideshow. To stop the slideshow, tap anywhere within the screen area; then tap the Back button located in the upper left navigation bar.

  • Q. How do I delete a photo?

    There are 2 ways to delete a photo:

    1. From the main Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Then tap the Share icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap to select the photos that you would like to delete, then tap the Delete icon located in the bottom icon bar. You will then be prompted to confirm the photo deletion. Tap OK to delete the photo(s).

    2. From the main Flip view, tap the Library icon located in the bottom icon bar. Tap the thumbnail go the photo that you would like to delete. The selected photo will be loaded into the single image view. Tap the Delete icon located in the bottom icon bar. You will then be prompted to confirm the photo deletion. Tap OK to delete the photo.
